step-by-step guide to the perfect naming ceremony

Step 5 - Organise Food & Drink for the reception/party

If you decide to book your own caterers for the reception/party, try to go on someone's recommendation if possible. The venue may be able to recommend caterers, or you could ask friends in the area. We are working on our own list of recommended caterers for all areas of the UK (click HERE), but it is in its infancy, so if you have any you would like to put forward please let us know!

If you want to provide your own food, we thoroughly recommend ordering party platters from places like Marks & Spencer or Sainsburys - they are reasonably priced and can take a lot of hassle out of the day! However, if you have the time and inclination, you may like to make your own party food - lots of ideas can be found in our Food & Drink section (click HERE).

If you have hired a venue they may provide a bar, or allow you to bring your own drink, possibly charging you corkage (such as £2 per bottle opened). When providing drinks at home, simply make sure you have a selection to cater for most tastes if you can. See our Food & Drink section for ideas (click HERE).
