Does
a naming ceremony have any legal status?
It
is important to note that a naming ceremony does not hold
any legal status at all. If you hire a celebrant to perform
the ceremony, they are likely to provide you with a 'naming
certificate', but this simply provides a special reminder
of the day. You will quite separately, need to register
the arrival of your new baby, within 42 days of the baby's
birth. For more information visit Gro.gov.uk.
