What
day of the week, what time of day and for how long?
A christening usually
takes place on a Sunday, but your naming celebration can
take place any day of the week. If you are going for the
naming ceremony, then you will find that the register office
and other venues are often a good deal less expensive during
the week than on a Saturday or Sunday. However, you should
consider whether friends and family are likely to be able
to either travel or take time off work to make it to a naming
ceremony during the week.
You can arrange your naming celebration at a time that works
best for you, but as a general guideline, we would recommend
starting at around 2.30pm, and finishing at around 6.30pm.
A formal ceremony itself usually lasts around an hour.
